A few years ago I met a girl by the name of Sally,
She was sweet and young and silly, and never knew when to shut up,
She giggled at the most inappropriate moments, and had a glint in her eyes,
watching the world pass in front of her, she was ready to grab it,
With both hands, her teeth, everything she could,
Because she knew somewhere out there was something better than this,
At the age of ten they changed her name from Cassandra,
To Sally, they said that it'd help with the memories,
With her difficulty in hearing her own name,
They thought it for the best, And Sally was the name
Of her favourite childhood toy, a little bear,
Mocha brown, with black button eyes, she'd sewn on herself.
When she turned eight, the police came knocking,
Her next door neighbour had heard the screams,
There were strange voices and odd sounds,
And Cassandra didn't like it,
She burst into tears under the musty bed,
And grasped her bear to her chest.
Back when she was five she found her mummy crying,
Trying to hide behind the sofa, She held little Cassie
Close to her chest, and wiped away both their tears,
With the corner of her sleeve, and whispered
Everything would be fine, hushed don't cry's,
And I love you's. That Cassie just didn't understand.
Aged two, a young girl entered the hospital,
With bruised ribs, a broken leg, and cuts on her face,
Her father looked thuggish, but there was nothing
The nurses could prove, so with disapproving looks,
and cautious mutters they put a note on her file,
And hoped for the best.
The morning that little girl left the hospital
Her mother found a little bear, with a blue ribbon
And black eyes waiting by the side of the bed,
And a little note, "My name is sally, Please, look after me."
I went to her house one evening,
To Sally's that is, and ran my fingers across the shelves,
And my eyes caught on a small bear, that was slightly fraying,
With one button eye starting to pull off, and a faded piece of ribbon,
Around her neck, and a little label, hanging from her paw.
"My name is Sally. Please, look after me."

Sit straight.
and chew your food 20 times.
chew it firmly, in the name of goodness.
chew it proper, like you know it matters.
like men of old
men of character.
you aspire character, do you not?
then let mommy see those jaws work.
everything good in this world comes from real work.
and there is no kind like the hard kind.
working is necessary.
it is necessary for something.
you might not know for what
and you do not need to.
for necessity is good
in itself.
you hear?
necessity is virtuous.
if it weren't for necessities
we would all be poets
poets and painters.

Depression
This feeling, it pollutes my very core
Leaving it rotted and tearing apart piece after piece.
It is a black thing, corrupting everything it brushes against
Leaving me in a will drained state.
Depression; a tired rage or sadness
No one has come to understand.
A flash of pain follows every thought of family and friends,
Leaving me with my head in my hands begging for an end.
I have not a single word, not a flick of my tongue;
That can even come close to describing how I feel.
My whole body feels like it is cracking into pieces
Planning to leave me as nothing more than a face smiling in a frame.
I’ve turned all that I loved against m

Water could be calm and stormy,
Never flows the way it seems,
Always caring and acts so friendly,
With great courage guards it's dreams.
Burning with great hope and desire,
Warming and beloved friend,
Always shy and blushing, that's fire,
It will be with you to the end.

It never makes others feel lonely.
